Demand Notes offer eligible GM/GMAC Family Members a convenient means of investing funds directly with GMAC. Demand Notes is an unsecured and unsubordinated debt obligation of GMAC ranking equally with all of our other unsecured and unsubordinated obligations. Demand Notes is neither a money market fund (which is generally a diversified investment consisting of investments in short term debt securities of many companies) nor a bank account and is not FDIC insured. Demand Notes is offered in the U.S. by prospectus only.
Are my Demand Notes FDIC insured, now that GMAC has converted to a Bank Holding Company?Demand Notes are not FDIC insured. They are an unsecured obligation of GMAC.
Am I eligible to invest?Demand Notes are available to all GM/GMAC Family Members which includes: Employees and retirees of General Motors Corporation/GMAC LLC and their subsidiaries, immediate family members of the employees and retirees, GM dealers and their employees, GM stockholders and GM/GMAC suppliers. Immediate family members are defined as the spouse, children, parents, siblings and grandparents of the employee or retiree.

What type of fees will I be charged?GMAC will not charge a maintenance or management fee nor will we charge for checks, check redemptions, or wire/ACH redemptions. GMAC will charge you for checks returned for insufficient funds, stop payments, official bank checks, cashier checks and redemptions checks written for less than $250. You may also incur a fee from your local financial institution if you make an investment or redeem from your Demand Notes electronically.
What is the prospectus and why should I read it?The Demand Notes prospectus provides complete information regarding this investment. The prospectus contains information on everything from risk to investment and redemptions.
For complete details regarding this investment, you should first read the prospectus. To begin investing, eligible GM/GMAC Family Members must complete an Investment Form. Can I invest into my Demand Notes electronically?As you are completing your Investment Form, you can select electronic investment in section 5. Electronic Investments can either be automatic (same time each month) or ad hoc for a minimum of $50. You can also initiate electronic investments online using your pre-established banking instructions. For wire investments, use the following bank instructions:

If you are a GM employee/retiree, you can start, stop or change your payroll deduction through the Demand Notes service center at 1-800-684-8823. Once you enter your Demand Notes number and PIN, select option 4 and follow the prompts. Whether you are a Salary, Hourly or retiree, you must request an investment of at least $50 per month.
GMAC Employees (which also includes Semperian, Nuvell and Insurance) can start, stop or change their Demand Notes Deductions (now referred to as Direct Deposit) through the GMAC HR Services Portal. To reach the correct page, follow these steps:

Is there a hold placed on my investment?Yes, all investments received by check or ACH (automated clearing house) will be available for redemption on the sixth business day after your check posts to your Demand Notes. Wires and payroll/pension investments have no holds placed on them
Yes. You use your pre-established banking instructions registered on your Demand Notes to process electronic redemptions either through online access or the Demand Notes service center. If you are beginning a new investment, you can establish your instructions by completing section 6 of the Investment form. If you already have an existing Demand Notes, you can add redemption options by completing and mailing an account change form.
How do I request a reorder of redemption checks?Every Demand Notes is issued a book of redemption checks when the note is successfully opened. If you need to reorder a new book of checks, call the Demand Notes service center at 1-800-684-8823 (selecting option 3) or access your note online and select Investor Services.
Can I pay my car payment or other such payments using my Demand Notes?Yes, you can use your Demand Notes to make electronic payments. Use the following instructions:

Do I have to call the Service Center to initiate a wire or ACH transfer?You can initiate any electronic transfers using your pre-established banking instructions on your Demand Notes either through online access or through the Service Center (1-800-684-8823). If you indicated that your transfers can only be requested through a customer service representative, call the service center Business Days, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 7 PM
How do I close my Demand Notes?Either call the service center (1-800-684-8823, M-F from 8 AM to 7 PM ET) to speak with a customer service representative or send a written request to: The Bank of New York Mellon,GMAC PO Box 358425, Pittsburgh, PA 15252-8425. A check will be issued for the remaining balance plus any interest due to the date of redemption. The check will be mailed to the registered address on file and made payable to the registered owners.
You will be able to logon using a single user id to access multiple notes, view 18 months of Demand Notes activity, initiate electronic transfers online using your pre-established banking instructions, set up various types of activity alerts that can be delivered to any e-mail, pager or PDA, request printed statements (mailed to the registered address), reorder checkbooks, send e-mails directly to the service center (in addition to the phone or mail), download Demand Notes information to either Quicken or Money and print Demand Notes forms.
How do I access my Demand Notes online?First time users must complete the online registration process.
Obtaining online access as a first time user to your Demand Notes is a quick and easy process:
For Individual/Joint/Custodial Notes Self-Registration:
Click "Individual/Joint/Custodial Notes Self-Registration"
All owners on the note, with the exclusion of minors, can register and select their own User ID and Password.
For Business/Trust Notes Self-Registration:
Click "Business/Trust Notes Self-Registration"
If you are listed as an owner on a business note and/or a trust note, you will have to register separately for each note.
You will receive a confirmation page informing you that your enrollment was successful. You can now login with your selected User ID and password.
The Terms and Conditions for this website will then be displayed. Please take a few minutes to read the contents of this document and then click "Accept". This procedure only has to be completed once.
For subsequent logins, just enter your User ID and your password that you have selected to access your Demand Notes activity online.
Helpful note: If you have an Individual/Joint/Custodial note, complete the "Forgot Password Registration" when you successfully logon. By completing this online form, you will be able to request a new password online should you forget your current one. Passwords can typically be received in your email within 30 minutes. This will eliminate a call to the Servicing Center.

Can I initiate electronic Investments and Redemptions through on-line access?Yes, you can use your pre-established bank account information that you have on file to initiate electronic investment and/or redemption through online access. You can also initiate electronic transactions either by telephone using the automated phone system (1- 800-684-8823) or by speaking with a customer service representative.
What are the system requirements for Demand Notes on-line access?Every Demand Notes is issued a book of redemption checks when the note is opened. If you need to reorder a new book of checks, call the automated phone system at 1-800-684-8823 (option 3) or access your note online and select Investor Services.
How do I remove or add a joint owner?To make changes to your Demand Notes, complete the section of the Demand Notes change form that is applicable to the type of change that you need to make. My password expired, what do I do now?After 180 days of inactivity on the site your password will expire. If this happens, call the Service Center at 1-800-684-8823, business days, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 7 PM ET. Once you enter your Demand Notes number and PIN, press # to speak with a customer service representative.
Can I reset my password online?If you have completed the "Forgot Password Registration" through online access, all you need to do is click on "Forgot Password" located on the Demand Notes Welcome Page and follow the directions.
